The Department of Agriculture, the Department of Fisheries, and the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department will collaborate on rehabilitation efforts for farming in areas affected by floods across the nation.

β€œThe Department of Agricultural Mechanization will handle land preparation for submerged farms using heavy machinery, while the Department of Agriculture will provide farmers with short-duration rice seeds,” an official stated.

Additionally, the Myanmar Livestock Federation and the National Economic Promotion Fund are contributing funds to help restore lost farm animals and farming cattle in seven states and regions. Plans are also in place to rehabilitate damaged fish ponds and supply fish species to affected farms.

The recent floods have caused the loss of approximately 100,000 acres of agricultural land, a total of 200,000 livestock, including cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, and pigs, as well as nearly 2,000 acres of fish farming ponds in six regions and states.
